Steel shafts were a valuable option 20 years ago, when carbon fiber was still not an affordable enough material and production processes were not as stable as they are now. Steel is now outdated when takling about mechanical potential and no industry is using steel nowadays for high performance equipment.

One fact: Stiffness evolution for steel shaft can NOT be dissociated from an increase of weight (stiffer shaft means heavier) meanwhile the anisotropic* nature of the carbon composite parts and its layer by layer construction allows us to produce an infinite range of properties for the same weight.

Fibers positioning and distribution allows us to define the shaft profile and the same carbón amount have hundreds of possible combinations.
